Dissertation Submission Resources and Checklist

There are many resources available to help you with the dissertation submission process:

Dissertation Submission Checklist:

  1. Review your reading committee members and designate your Final Reader (your dissertation advisor) in Axess (see here for instructions and screenshots). The Final Reader certifies the submitted dissertation in Axess as the final step in the submission process. Please confirm your Final Reader will have internet access and will be available to certify your dissertation in Axess by the deadline.
  2. Submit your dissertation to your reading committee and collect their approval via email for your Reading Committee Page eForm in Axess. Please do not collect ink signatures for your signature page. Note that you will not be permitted to upload your dissertation in Axess until the Registrar can review and confirm your Reading Committee Page eform.
  3. Electronically submit your final dissertation to Stanford Libraries’ digital repository. It is highly recommended to submit the day before the deadline, so your Final Reader can complete the final certification in Axess, prior to the noon deadline.
  4. By noon of the dissertation deadline the designated Final Reader certifies the submitted dissertation in Axess.
